The 2018 season proved to be strongest in recent, 30 athletes qualified to the KSHSAA State Track & Field meet held at Wichita State. May 18, 2018 the De Soto Wildcats traveled to Shawnee Heights high school to compete at the 5A Regional #7 against Shawnee Heights, Lansing, Highland Park, Topeka Seaman, Mill Valley, Leavenworth and KC-Washington. May 10, 2018 the De Soto Wildcats traveled to Ottawa High School to compete against fellow Frontier League schools in hopes of a 2018 title. And that they did!
