3rd Place at the Inter League Championships

Once upon a time, there was a team of nine swimmers whose accomplishments were often overshadowed by larger teams.  At the Inter League Championship meet, however, those nine athletes pulled together and held their own against teams with larger numbers.  That team of nine finished third out of six teams!  Numerous swimmers not only achieved

Blue Valley West Swim Meet Results

The meet at Blue Valley West was one in which many of the swimmers were stretched beyond their comfort zones.  They were challenged to do something new, because sometimes we all don’t realize our potential until we are pushed passed what we are comfortable doing.  Race after race, the swimmers were crushing personal bests.  This

BVSW Swim Meet Results

The meet at Blue Valley Southwest was a pivotal moment for our team to say the least.  I could not be more proud of these guys than I am right now.  Almost every single race resulted in a new best time, and some best times were significant.  These guys have worked so hard all season,

Olathe South Swim Meet Results

Our meet at Chisholm Trail this past Wednesday against Olathe South, Emporia, Shawnee Mission Northwest, and Mill Valley brought about numerous best times and several successes with swimmers trying new events.  While we are small in number, we still aim to make individual improvements each meet.  As our season nears its end (hard to believe),

Boys Swimming Begins Season at Lansing Relays

Saturday’s relay meet at Lansing High School was an unconventional meet, but a fantastic way to get psyched about the sport of swimming as the 2017-2018 swim season was officially kicked off!  A relay meet requires numbers, but despite only taking seven swimmers, De Soto High School was still well represented.  DHS had three swimmers

Boys Swim Season Concludes at State

Qualifying for State in and of itself is a significant accomplishment!  I was so very proud of the De Soto boys’ swim team even before their first swim on Friday, February 17th.  With only five seasons of existence and every year better than the one before, I knew anything that happened at State was just

InterLeague Swim Championships

What a night for the DHS Wildcat swimmers!  Our league championship meet turned out to be quite the nail-biter!  We went from a solid lead over Coffeyville to them passing us to us finishing just two points ahead of them in the end!  WOW!  I truly did not expect a 2nd place finish overall.  Every

College Signing Day

On Friday, February 3rd De Soto High School honored eight Wildcat student-athletes who signed their letter of intent to play their respected sport at the collegiate level. The ceremony was held in the Main Gym and students, teachers, coaches, and families attended. Congratulations to each of our Wildcats! Jarod Blazo Swimming at Milligan College Mackenzie
