Forensics Results from Paola Inv.

The De Soto High School Forensics team competed at Paola High School on Thursday, April 19th. Here are their results: Oliver Stutzman won 1st place in Oratory and qualified for State. Isabel Book took 2nd place in Poetry and qualified for State. Sarah Moler 4th place in Poetry. Jaycie Swift 5th place in Poetry.

Forensics Results from Piper Inv.

The Forensics team competed at Piper High School on Friday, April 13th and Saturday, April 14. Here are their results: Hunter Finerty takes 5th place in Impromptu Speaking. Ethan Iddings and Shantel Horne take 2nd place in Public Forum Debate. Kaitlin Torres was undefeated and wins first place in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.

Autumn Webb Qualifies for State

Autumn Webb took 2nd place in Poetry at the Louisburg Forensics Meet on Tuesday, April 10th. This performance has qualified Autumn for the State Competition which will be held on Saturday, May 5th. Congratulations Autumn!

Forensics Results from SMW

Kaitlin Torres takes 1st place in Lincoln-Douglas debate at Shawnee Mission West from among 23 competitors. She was the only undefeated Lincoln-Douglas debater at this tournament with a 4-0 record and is state qualified! The DHS Forensics Team competed in a meet hosted at Baldwin High School on Saturday, February 17th. Hunter Finerty finished in 4th place in Impromtu Speaking which qualified her for State competition. Jaycie Swift finished in 5th place in Poetry which qualified her for State competition. Lawrence High Forensics Results

It was a great weekend of competition for the DHS forensics team. The students competed at the Lawrence High School Forensics Meet on Friday, February 2nd and Saturday, February 3rd. The following students brought home medals: Ethan Iddings and Shantel Horne placed 2nd in Public Forum Debate at Lawrence High School on Saturday, February 3rd.

Lansing Debate and Forensics Meet Results

De Soto High School students competed in a Lincoln-Douglas Debate meet at Lansing High School last weekend. Congratulations to Kaitlin Torres for going 4-0 andĀ earning 1st place in Novice Lincoln-Douglas Debate in Lansing. Congrats to Shantel Horne for earning 2nd place and Autumn Webb for earning 4th place in Chamber 3 for Novice Congressional Debate

DHS Wildcat Debate Squad Places 2nd at Spring Hill

There have been lots of exciting achievements for the DHS Wildcat Debate program recently. On Saturday, October 14th, three open and four novice debate teams competed in multiple divisions at Olathe East High School. Kaitlin Torres and Brooke Cobos placed 4th in Novice Orange and Blake Hinson and Taylor Mabe placed 4th in Novice Blue.
