Game Recap

The De Soto Wildcats moved to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the Frontier League with a 52-7 victory at Spring Hill High School on Friday, October 13th, 2017. The Wildcats compiled 445 total yards of offense on 49 plays, 163 yards through the air and 282 yards on the ground.
During the first quarter Trevor Watts scored on an 8 yard run and Ethan Rodriguez added the PAT to make it a 7-0 lead at the 9:07 mark in the 1st quarter. Bryce Mohl then found the endzone on a 2 yard run and Ethan Rodriguez added another PAT to make it 14-0 with 4:22 left in the 1st Quarter. Trevor Watts then found the endzone for the second time on a 75 yard run and Rodriguez added the PAT to make it 21-0 with 1:48 left in the 1st Quarter.
The Wildcats opened the 2nd Quarter on a 36 yard touchdown pass from Bryce Mohl that connected with Trevor Watts, Rodriguez again added the PAT and the score was 28-0 at the 11:53 mark in the 2nd Quarter. Then the De Soto defense came alive with a Brayden Brummer 50 yard interception that he took to the house for 6 points. Rodriguez completed the point after attempt to make the score 35-0 with 9:23 left to play in the 2nd Quarter. Bryce Mohl then connected with Connor Strouse on a 65 yard touchdown pass and a Rodriguez PAT made the score 42-0 with 2:34 left in the 2nd Quarter. Trevor Watts then found the endzone for the fourth time on the night off of a 24 yard pass from Bryce Mohl. Rodriguez added the PAT to make it a 49-0 De Soto lead with 0:32 left until the half.
During the 3rd Quarter the Wildcats played several reinforcements that were able to put together a big drive that set up a 26 yard field goal that was completed by Ethan Rodriguez to make the score 52-0 at the 3:51 mark in the 3rd Quarter. Zach Titus also blocked a Spring Hill punt during the 2nd half.
The Broncos found the endzone for their first and only score of the night during the 4th Quarter on a long pass play. The game ended with a 52-7 Wildcat Victory over the Spring Hill Broncos.

The De Soto Wildcats move to 7-0 overall on the season, 5-0 in the Frontier League, and 1-0 in Class 4 D1 District 2 play. The Wildcats will travel to Bishop Miege on Friday, October 20th in a game that will feature the top 2 state ranked teams in Class 4A D1 with Miege at #1 and De Soto at #2. The Wildcats will then return home on October 27th vs. Eudora for Senior Night and their final game within the Frontier League. The Wildcats can secure an outright Frontier League Championship with a victory over the Eudora Cardinals.

Game Recap

De Soto moves to 29-3 overall and 5-0 in the Frontier League with a 3-0 win over the Ottawa Cyclones. JV won 2-0 and C Team lost 0-2. The Varsity and JV Wildcats will be in action at Bishop Miege on Thursday, October 12th in a Tri with both Miege and Hayden. The Wildcats will return home on the 17th vs. Spring Hill and a Wildcat Victory would give De Soto an outright Frontier League Championship!

Game Recap

The De Soto Wildcats moved to 6-0 on Friday, October 6th with a 42-0 win over the Baldwin Bulldogs. The Wildcats also remain unbeaten in the Frontier League.

1st Quarter Summary:
Trevor Watts scored on an 11 yard run and Ethan Rodriguez added the PAT to make it 7-0 Wildcats. Later in the 1st Quarter Leo Oplotnik scored on a 1 yard touchdown run and Rodriguez added the PAT to make it a 14-0 Wildcat lead.

2nd Quarter Summary:
Trevor Watts found the endzone for a second time on a 26 yard run and Ethan Rodriguez added the PAT to make it a 21-0 game at the half.

3rd Quarter Summary:
Trevor Watts scored his thrid touchdown of the night on another 26 yard run and Rodriguez added the PAT to make it 28-0. Darren Winans then scored on a 15 yard run and another Rodriguez PAT made it 35-0 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

4th Quarter Summary:
Shane Watts scored on an 8 yard run and Ethan Rodriguez added the PAT.

The Wildcats ran 49 offensive plays for a total of 388 yards. The Wildcat Defense held the Baldwin Bulldogs to only 70 yards of total offense on 50 plays.

The Wildcats remain unbeaten on the season and perfect in the Frontier League. They will travel to Spring Hill High School to take on the Broncos on Friday, October 13th. This game also marks the start of KSHSAA District play.

Game Recap

De Soto gets a big win vs. Louisburg in a must win game in order to stay in the hunt for a league title. Ethan Rodriguez scored in the first half with a long strike from a set piece. Carson Brier put away a penalty kick half way through the second half to give the Wildcats a 2 goal lead. Blake Webber returned from an injury that sat him out for a few weeks to earn a shutout.
