Multiple Teams · 5A State Track & Field Championship


The 2018 season proved to be strongest in recent, 30 athletes qualified to the KSHSAA State Track & Field meet held at Wichita State. This meet is the largest high school meet in the nation, as Kansas hosts all classifications 1A-6A together. Both the boys and girls teams placed 9th respectively. The 2 days of competition when as follows:

Day 1:

Sam Hubert – 5th in the 3200m

Linnea Searls – 14th in long jump

Connor Flynn – 7th in triple jump

Emily Fuhr – 2nd in discus, 3rd in shot put, 16th in javelin

Kelsey Heer – 3rd in discus

Girls 4×1 qualified to finals with a new school record (Faith Burford, Linnea Searls, Lily Rodriguez, Hayley Moss)

Boys 4×1 qualified to finals (Brayden Brummer, Exavier Jackson, Trevor Watts, Ethan Rodriguez)

Gabby Collins – 9th in the 400m

Martin Searcy – 11th in the 110mhh, 13th in the 300mh

Graham Hudelson – 12th in the 400m

Exavier Jackson – 15th in the 200m

Boys 4×4 placed 15th (Jake Rosen, Chase Culver, Samuel Hashagen, Graham Hudelson)

Day 2:

Exavier Jackson – 5th in the 100m, 6th in long jump

Trevor Watts – 13th in the 100m

Girls 4×8 placed 11th (Gabby Collins, Justine Wheeler, Mackenzie Leisten, LaMyah Ricks)

Sam Hubert – 9th in the 1600m

Girls 4×1 finished 7th (Faith Burford, Linnea Searls, Lily Rodriguez, Hayley Moss)

Boys 4×1 claimed the 5A State Title (Brayden Brummer, Exavier Jackson, Trevor Watts, Ethan Rodriguez)

Zach Titus – 7th in the shot put
