De Soto Boys claim Frontier League Championship!

May 10, 2018 the De Soto Wildcats traveled to Ottawa High School to compete against fellow Frontier League schools in hopes of a 2018 title. And that they did! The boys team claimed the 2018 Frontier League Track & Field Championship title during their last year to compete as a Frontier league school. The boys racked up 134 points to help them solidify their win, with Paola placing 2nd with 115, and Spring Hill third with 114. The girls competed hard as well and placed 4th competitively with 81.50 points; Paola claimed the girls title with 188.80. The day started off rough, with injuries and unusual mishaps, but great teams know how to rise to the occasion and compete to win. Congratulations to both boys and girls on a great Frontier League Track Meet!

A meet like yesterday was bound to be full of massive new personal records! Kelsey Heer broke her own school record in the discus and PR’s in the shot put. The girls 4×1, 4×4, and 4×8, the boys 4×8, Emily Fuhr pr’d in the discus, Lina Bayer in the shot put, Gabby Collins in the 400m, Graham Hudelson in the 400m, Trinity Bell in the pole vault, Andre VanMeerhaeghe in the 1600m, Chase Krehbiel in the 300m hurdles, Andrew Goodman in the 300m hurdles, Hayleigh Henderson in the 300m hurdles, Ella Fixsen in the 100m hurdles, Lily Rodriguez in the 100m hurdles and 100m, Daniel Searcy in the shot put, Rylie McDaniel in the 1600m, Connor Flynn in the triple jumpExavier Jackson in the 200m, Trevor Watts in the 200m, Makenna Julian in the 200m, Conner Gibson 1600m, and Erin Pickert in the 3200m.
