Game Recap

The De Soto Wildcats traveled to Nevada, MO in a Non Conference game on Friday, September 29th, 2017. The Wildcats defeated the Nevada Tigers 55-14 and moved to 5-0 overall on the season.

1st Quarter Summary:
Trevor Watts scored on a 5 yard run and Rodriguez added the PAT to make it 7-0 Wildcats at the 9:29 mark in the 1st Quarter. Nevada responded with a touchdown run of their own to tie the game at 7-7 at 6:51 left in the 1st Quarter. Brayden Brummer ended the 1st Quarter with a 74 yard Interception return to set up the Wildcats with excellent field position.

2nd Quarter Summary:
Bryce Mohl opened the 2nd Quarter with a 9 yard touchdown pass to Connor Strouse and Ethan Rodriguez added the PAT to make it 14-7 at the 11:56 mark of the 2nd Quarter. Trevor Gress then recovered at Nevada fumble on the Nevada 32 yard line, which was followed by an intercepted pass attempt by Mohl to give the ball right back to the Tigers. After another stop by the Wildcat defense, Darren Winans scored on a 17 yard and Rodriguez added another PAT to make it 21-7 with 9:09 left in the 2nd Quarter. Nevada responded with their second score of the game to make it 21-14 with 8:28 left till the half. Bryce Mohl then began the air attack connecting with Connor Strouse on a 50 yard pass and also their 2nd touchdown connection of the night. Rodriguez added the PAT to make it 28-14 with 6:17 left in the 2nd Quarter. Bryce Mohl then hit Trevor Watts on a 23 yard touchdown pass and the Rodriguez PAT made it 35-14 with 4:10 left till the half. Another forced fumble by the Wildcat Defense set up a 5 yard touchdown run by Leo Oplotnik making the score 42-14 with only 0:48 left in the 2nd Quarter.

3rd Quarter Summary:
Bryce Mohl connected with Trevor Watts on a 45 yard touchdown pass and a bad snap on the PAT resulted in a failed 2pt attempt making the score 48-14 at the 6:19 mark in the 3rd Quarter.

4th Quarter Summary:
Leo Oplotnik scored his 2nd touchdown on a 1 yard run and Rodriguez added the PAT to make the final score 55-14 with 7:36 left in the 4th Quarter.

The Wildcats moved to 5-0 overall and remain unbeaten in the Frontier League with a record of 3-0. The Wildcats return home to take on the Baldwin Bulldogs this Friday night at 7:00pm
