On Monday September 11th, the De Soto Girls tennis team hosted the schools that will make up the new United Kansas Conference next school year. De Soto swept both Lansing and Shawnee Heights, while splitting with Leavenworth.

#2 Singles: Bailey Ramsdell: 2-0 (only played 2 due to a default due to an injury to her LV opponent)
#1 Doubles: Kelsey Heer/Josie Bedford: 2-1
#2 Doubles: Raegen Ramsdell/Carly Bodenhausen: 2-1
Coach Comments: As we look forward to having a league tournament for the girls for the first time next season, it was good to get an outlook on where we will stand as we look to win the inaugural UKC meet. Issa was dominant only losing 2 games during her 3 matches. Bailey was dominant as well only losing 4 games during her 2 matches. It is unfortunate her opponent from LV had to default due to injury and she didn’t get a third match in. Kelsey and Josie played well their first 2 matches. In their match against LV, their inexperience as a doubles tandem cost them in some key moments. As we get more time at practice, I am sure we can clean those things up and turn that loss into a win when we play them again. Raegen and Carly really struggled today. The won their first two matches, but the tennis was ugly at times. A lot of unforced errors made the day a battle for them, but learning how to win without your best game is a great thing to figure out early in the season.
